“Finally, be strengthened in the Lord and in the strength of his power. Clothe yourselves with the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. For this reason, take up the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand your ground on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand.”

Ephesians 6:10-13 NET
There is a very real war going on around us. I think the scripture that I put above kind of spells out that very sad reality. Unfortunately, it's a war that we can't help to avoid. The fact of the matter is, all we have to do is be alive on planet Earth to find ourselves pulled into this war. Truth is Satan hates us. No, we may not have done anything personally to him. Then again he doesn't really need an excuse. Satan doesn't know anything but hate. We are all born with one glaring strike against us whether we do anything or not. Genesis 1:27 tells us that we have been made in the image and after the likeness of God. So when Satan sees us he sees God, whom he obvoiusly hates.
"Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name. "He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. "With a long life I will satisfy him And let him see My salvation."Psalms 91:14-16 NASB
Praise God, in the midst of the war, we have the promise that our loving and faithful Father will always be there. The whole 91st chapter of Psalms spells out for us Gods desire to protect us. One of the greatest tools that we have been given to stand and fight this war, is the armor of God. But what is that armor? And how in the world are we suppose to use it? Over the next few days I would like to take us on a journey to help us better understand the armor and hopefully answer these very questions. I hope you'll join me.
“Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth
and the body armor of God’s righteousness.
For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.
In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.
Put on salvation as your helmet,
and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion.Ephesians 6:14-18 NLT
